At the end of October, the Italian city of Milan became a European exhibition center with the celebration of the 42nd edition of Host Milano, dedicated to the catering and hospitality sectors. It took place together with the Tuttofood congress, the agri-food fair with the most complete product offer in Italy, which covers the entire Food and Beverages ecosystem.

The two events, held simultaneously, have exceeded everyone's expectations and have become one of the most outstanding meetings of the year, bringing together more than 150,000 visitors and a total of 2,700 companies. The trends with most prominence were safety and quality, since, according to experts, consumers in the coming years will choose those restaurants, bars, bakeries or patisseries that give them confidence not only because of their products, but also because of the technologies they adopt to keep their establishments as safe spaces.

In addition, more than 800 events were held, including Iginio Massari's Luxury Pastry in the World initiative and the numerous international championships organized by the International Federation of Pastry, Ice Cream and Chocolate (FIPGC), as well as the World Panettone Championship, or the SMART Label Host Innovation award, which recognizes groundbreaking products, that reduce consumption and use cutting-edge technologies.

There were also four webinars that explored four different trends in the world of hospitality: sustainability focused on the new 'green wave', the role of design in improving customer experiences, digitization in the world of hospitality and restoration, and change seen as a source of opportunities. In this way, Host Milano is not only consolidated as a business platform, but also as a space where you can share data and research, knowledge, host international competitions and discover new trends.
