On October 18th, 19th and 20th, Gastronomic Forum Barcelona, one of the most important events in gastronomy and hospitality, was held at Fira Barcelona. The event was a real success, with a total of 16,300 attendees, 331 exhibiting companies, and presentations and show cookings of more than 100 speakers, 60 chefs and 46 Michelin stars took place.

In this way, the space became a hotbed of business, meetings and conferences not only on the most avant-garde cuisine or new gastronomic trends, but also on how to make catering and hospitality businesses more profitable and sustainable.

Gastronomic Forum Barcelona has awarded various awards and held relevant competitions for the sector, among them we can find the best Chef 2021 awards, which has gone to chef Joseba Cruz, from the restaurant Le Clandestin (Navàs), and the 5th edition of the TheBestDessert -Espaisucre-  awards in which chef Víctor Gonzalo (Àbac) was chosen as the best restaurant pastry chef.

In addition, PORDAMSA has collaborated in the creation of the awards for the Josep Mercader Awards, which have distinguished the best professional careers in the kitchen, dining room, oenology, gastronomic dissemination, commerce and sustainable restaurant. For this very special edition dedicated to sustainability, the team has designed some unique and exclusive awards, inspired by the artist Salvador Dalí and his famous melting clocks.

These are porcelain pieces with an organic texture that are dissolved into a piece of wood, made up of 100% natural materials and by hand. The final result is an asymmetrical shape, like nature itself. This is how PORDAMSA manages to go beyond the physical and creates awards that have their own history. Nothing is more tempting to the senses than touch.

Gastronomic Forum Barcelona will return in November 2022 with much more news.
