Like every year on these dates, The Fork, an online reservation platform with more than 80,000 restaurants from 22 countries in its database and more than 12 million user opinions, has published its ranking of The 100 Best Restaurants in Spain 2021. It is a reference ranking for the gastronomic sector and is chosen by the diners who book, enjoy and sharetheir experience on the platform.

The first place in the ranking goes to Can Jubany, the restaurant that belongs to Nandu Jubany and his partner and manager of the room, Anna Orte. Located in a farmhouse in Calldetenes (Barcelona), it retains all the warmth and aroma of old country houses, but inside it hides a great secret: an explosion of senses, a journey through the flavours of the land and a new taste concept that preserves the essence of traditional cuisine.

“For the entire team, it has been a pleasant surprise and a boost to give us energy and strength when it comes to continuing to work to make the clients who visit us happy and meet their expectations. We really do not have words to thank all our clients, thanks to them our job is the best”, says Jubany.

The second position in the ranking is occupied by the winning restaurant in 2020, La Casona del Judío in Cantabria, with chef Sergio Bastard at the helm. His cuisine, which mixes originality and tradition in equal parts, has been one of the most valued elements by his diners and has also led them to be awarded a Michelin star in 2021. Their goal is to convey new emotions and sensations.

And finally, the podium closes with Venta Moncalvillo owned by the Echapresto brothers, in La Rioja. In their philosophy, the Moon influences nature by setting the rhythm of the harvests, therefore, each New Moon, they renew the menu to offer a personal cuisine made with the best products that each lunar phase can offer.

“We firmly believe that the restaurant sector deserves recognition for the well-done job”, declares Raquel Bravo, Regional Marketing Director Iberia. “Thanks to this list that we have prepared through the reservations, experiences and evaluations of diners, we can reward these restaurants that day by day work to offer the best gastronomy and most groundbreaking proposals for the most demanding palates and that have become the favourites of the Spaniards”, she adds.
